I believe in the power of radical empathy. So many of the people I have worked with have experienced pain in their lives or they feel the crushing weight of expectations from themselves and others around them. I have been honored to witness people I have worked with find their voice and build their strength to overcome barriers in their lives. I am honored to hold space for you as you work through things that feel heavy, cheer you on when things begin to feel easy again, and walk with you for all the moments in between.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and gender studies, a Master of Science in education, and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Practice. For more than a decade, I have worked with people who have experienced trauma, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQIA++ youth and their parents, and people impacted by issues of domestic and sexual violence. As a queer person, I believe it is imperative that people have an opportunity to show up as their full selves and to feel safe and affirmed.
My friends have described my personality as bold, empathic, and passionate. During the day, I am a program director at a local nonprofit and I am also on the board of directors for a local non-profit serving LGBTQ youth. While I am deeply dedicated to my work, I also enjoy spending time with my family, savoring the changing seasons, and enjoying quietly wholesome things like baking and canning.Â
