I believe that therapy begins with wanting change. We often get this inkling that something needs to change, but we haven’t figured out how to create that difference in our lives. As a therapist, my role is to listen to your experiences so that I can gain an empathic understanding of your worldview. As my understanding of your needs and desired change becomes clear, then I can join you in your journey and help you to create the life experiences you are searching for. I have the utmost respect for the courage it takes to utilize this path toward change.
I work with individuals, couples, and families and am passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA++ population. I offer a holistic approach to healing, which includes taking into consideration the mind-body-soul connection. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University (NIU). Before attending NIU, I spent seven years studying closely with a medicine woman who is a spiritual teacher, mentor, and healer and uses various cross-cultural practices including shamanism.Â
Couples, families, relationship conflict, navigating change or life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD
My therapeutic approach includes utilizing academic, research-based knowledge, and spiritual wisdom to provide a holistic, tailor-made, toolkit for your journey. Whether or not you identify with spiritual principles, this approach includes using language that resonates with and affirms your beliefs.
